Publications of Western media about a possible announcement of mobilization in Russia are false information stuffing, said Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, TASS reports.

According to a Kremlin spokesman, President Vladimir Putin will not announce mobilization in his speech at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 17.

“These are false information stuffing,”— he said.

About the possible announcement of mass mobilization in Russia over Ukraine on June 14, Bloomberg reported, citing high-ranking European officials.

The last time messages about the planned mobilization were distributed before May 9th. CNN, citing Western officials, reported that on Victory Day, Putin could officially declare war on Ukraine, which would allow “the full mobilization of Russia's reserves.” The Kremlin then also called this information nonsense. Yuri Shvytkin, deputy head of the State Duma Committee on Defense, explained that such messages are being spread to sow panic among the population.

Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24. After the start of the special operation, Ukraine declared martial law and introduced general mobilization.
