The President announced the opening of 19 medical institutions in the regions, including infectious diseases hospitals, oncology dispensaries, polyclinics and feldsher-obstetric stations
On the eve of the Day of the Medical Worker, President Vladimir Putin thanked the doctors who provide assistance in the zone of the special operation special operations in Ukraine. He said this via video link during the opening ceremony of new medical institutions in the regions of Russia, the Kremlin press service reported.
“I want to especially address military doctors, paramedics, nurses, junior medical personnel, who sometimes, sacrificing themselves, provide medical assistance under shelling, on the front line. A deep bow to you for the saved lives of our comrades who are taking part in a special military operation,— said the president.
The Russian leader also thanked employees of federal and regional medical institutions, hospitals, polyclinics, ambulance workers and medical servicemen for their work. He noted the dignity with which they fulfill their mission, as well as the professionalism of doctors, which “is inseparable from sincere generosity.”
“The value of your work really cannot be overestimated. We will definitely step up measures to support primary care professionals, all those who work in the domestic health care,— said the president.
He noted the importance of increasing the availability and quality of medical care, and named the renewal of primary health care and the support of specialists involved in it as a priority.

During his address, Putin announced the opening of 19 medical institutions in the regions, among them: oncology dispensaries in Ulan-Ude and Volgograd, infectious diseases hospitals in Belgorod and Orenburg, the medical rehabilitation building of the Federal Center for Traumatology, Orthopedics and Endoprosthetics in Cheboksary, a polyclinic in Novosibirsk, two polyclinics after overhaul in St. Petersburg and Yaroslavl, as well as 11 feldsher-obstetric stations in the Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions.
The Day of the Medical Worker is celebrated annually in Russia on the third Sunday of June.
In mid-June, a group of deputies and senators from United Russia introduced a bill that proposes to give the status of combat veterans to civilian specialists, including doctors working in the special operation zone in Ukraine. According to the authors of the initiative, this will allow civilian participants in the special operation to receive additional social protection.
